Children’s Ministry

Our Children’s Ministry is designed to aid parents in the spiritual training of their children (Ephesians 6:4). We seek to assist parents in laying a firm foundation of Scripture, which is able to give children wisdom leading to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 3:15).

The manner in which we instruct our children is essentially the same as our approach to adults. Regardless of age groups, the Bible remains central to our instruction. Children require basic truth explained in a manner that they can comprehend. But we also believe that children understand and retain for more than we often give them credit. Thus, we endeavor to ensure God’s truth is not compromised in the way it is presented.

One of the ways we teach our children is through catechism training. This method has been employed since the early days of the church and has a rich heritage within the Southern Baptist Convention itself. We encourage parents to catechize their children at home. We also currently provide catechism training on Sunday evenings for the younger children of our church.

Music also holds a key place in the spiritual development of our children. We encourage our children to sing about the greatness of our God. Through God-centered music, we  teach children how to praise God and His Son Jesus Christ.

Our children’s ministry also exists to provide opportunities for those in our church to use their spiritual gifts. Serving children in the church is an essential and rewarding experience (I Pet 4;10-11).
